To meaningfully contribute to the circular economy and reduce carbon footprint by delivering the best technical solutions to recover and re-use as much liquid effluent/flowing waste as possible.
Our History
Our journey to creating a sustainable solution, in name as well as on the ground has taken over 10 years. After enjoying careers in the energy producing industries both Pete and Alex turned their inquisitive and creative minds to the bio-waste sector.
Creating and testing waste reduction and environment helping technologies in airports, agriculture, hydrocarbon produced water and biogas production meant that the 2 founders of SSIR had an excellent understanding of the economics, operations, limitations and legislature required to design, finance, build, test and prove the Waste 2 Energy system that removes the energy rich solids from process water to create a commercially viable by-product that is suitable as a fuel or a fertiliser.
In 2023, Sustainable Solutions was funded, supported and made a group company by Intervention Rentals Ltd (IRL). Led by Phil Scott, IRL was looking for a way to invest in non-oil and gas operations and technologies. Additionally, IRL became involved with a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the Robert Gordon University to research creating pure green H2 from waste heat. Now, SSIR are testing and building solutions in Aquaculture, Fertiliser, Biogas and Hydrogen.
